

Cristian Castro was destined to dedicate his life to the public. Cristian
was born to the internationally recognized Mexican actress, television
star and singer, Veronica Castro. Cristian was born in Mexico City
on December 8th, 1974 and made his first professional appearance,
in the arms of his actress mother’s arms, in a national television
commercial, only a few months after being born. And this was
simply the beginning.
At the age of 5 years old, he was cast in a syndicated soap opera El
Derecho de Nacer. In the same year, his theatrical development
took on form with his casting along side veteran theater actress,
Silvia Pinal, in the play “Mame”. At the age of
7, under the guidance of his mother and his aunt Beatriz, they
helped him up set up his very own radio show, “ La Hora de
Cristian”, hosted by the young entertainer. And all
about the same time in his young career, Cristian debutted his
first single as a singer, titled “El Gallito Feliz”
on the very popular national show Siempre en Domingo.
Weeks later, he appeared on the young and vibrant television
festival of music, Juguemos A Cantar, created by the highly
recognized Mexican host, Raúl Velasco.
At 15, Cristian participated in the national Festival de la
Cancion, a young version of our American Idol, with
his song “16 de Diciembre.” Cristian continued to
develop his singing career, but also focused on his acting career,
with a new role casted in the soap opera “Las Secretas Intenciones.”
In 1991, the young teenage singer/actor released his first album
titled “Agua Negra”, which includes songs like “No podras”
which was quickly converted into an international hit. Two
years later, he released his second album, “Un Segundo En El
Tiempo”, making him worthy of his first Grammy nomination.
During the mid-90s, Cristian releases “El Camino Del Alma”, this
third album to his credit was overwhelmingly popular with a single,
“Mañana,” which was composed by Juan Gabriel, the very worldly
singer/songwriter Latin music idol.
“Amor,” the single from his fourth album “El Deseo
De Oir Tu Voz” maintained a top position, on the Billboard
Hot Latin Tracks for 11 consecutive weeks. The same occurred
with his sentimental anthem single “Amarte a ti” and which
earned him a Billboard Awards nomination.
His fifth musical production, “Lo Mejor de Mi”, produced
by Ruby Perez broke album sales records, and making Cristian Castro
a household name across North America, on both sides of the border
and south in Central and South America. Radio stations in the
US and Latin America could not keep his songs out of rotation. This
album positioned Cristian’s music in every latin category of the
Billboard Charts. With songs like “Si ti me amaras”,
“Amaneciendo en ti”, “Lloran las rosas”, “Después de ti… Qué?” and
“ Lo Mejor De Mi”, inevitably allowing Cristian dominance
in all the Billboard Awards catergories that are recognized
in the Latin Music industry. Cristian practically claimed all
the Latin awards at the Billboards that year. In the same manner,
this album was recognized internationally, with records sales skyrocketing,
making this album a Gold, Platinum and Double Platinum seller for
his record label.
In 1999, Cristian Castro presented a new album, “Mi Vida Sin
Tu Amor”, produced by Kike Santander. And in the year
2000, Cristian received international acclaim, after being invited
to the internationally recognized “Festival de Viña Mar” in
Chile, this year the young Mexican Artist went home with the most
coveted award of recognition, “La Gaviota de Plata”.
“Azul”, the second production with the highly acclaimed
producer Kike Santander was launched in 2001. With singles like “Yo
queria”, “Azul” and “Lloviendo Estrellas” brought
high acclaim and won him another Grammy nomination. “Azul” was
highly praised that year by “Premios Lo Nuestro”, awarding Cristian,
the “Best Artist of the Year” award.
“Cristian Grandes Exitos”, marks a great moment in the
career of this singer. Amongst other recognized duets, the single
“Fly without the winds” featuring the Irish group, West
Life, earned him great success on another continent. The single
soon appeared on an album of greatest pop hits, in Europe and North
America.
In 2003, “AmarEs” was released and remained on Billboards
Top Five Latin Charts for many weeks and the single “No hace
falta” was one of dominant singles with radio stations across
the U.S. and Latin America, for the year.
In August 2004, Cristian unleashed highly acclaimed international
CD, “Hoy Quiero Soña”. And at the beginning of 2005, Cristian
introduced the arrival of his collection of new songs under the title
“Gallito Feliz”.
His most recent work, “El Indomable” is Cristian’s first
ranchero album. Quickly making history in the ranchero genre, “El
Indomable” made it to the number one position in the Official
Regional Mexican Radio list and in the last quarter out sold Vicente
Fernandez and Pepe Aguilar. It’s success placed # 4 on the Billboard
Latin Regional chart, # 5 on Discolandia and #10 on Mix Up, all of
which follow the success of latin music worldwide.
Cristian has demonstrated with his long list of hits that he is one
of the most admired Latin Artist throughout the Americas and Europe. Aside
from that, the singer is known for breaking record sales and filling
concert halls worldwide. He has sold more than 7.5 million albums,
with 29 Platinum albums and 60 Gold albums with multiple Billboard
Awards, Lo Nuestro Awards and Grammy Award nominations to name a few.
